Mission

Mission of Mandarin Immersion Alliance (MIA) 

Our mission is to connect the community, parents, schools, and school district to advocate for inclusive and accessible Mandarin immersion programs in public education.

Current Initiative at CUSD:

1. Objective: Establish a new Dual Language Immersion Program featuring Simplified Chinese and Pinyin.

2. Grade Levels: Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through Grade 5.

3. Focus: Foster collaboration and open communication among all stakeholders.

Goals:

1. Inclusivity: Create educational opportunities that reflect the diverse needs of the community.

2. Cultural Understanding: Promote awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity.

3. Love of Learning: Inspire lifelong learning in every child.

By working together, we can shape a program that benefits students, families, and the broader community.

Who We Are

Mandarin Immersion Alliance (MIA) is a group of passionate CUSD parents dedicated to improving educational opportunities for local children. 

We are parents just like you—navigating the challenges of raising children, supporting their education, and building a brighter future for our community. Our team includes volunteers from various schools within CUSD, all united by a shared vision.  We are united based on collaboration, open communication, and a genuine care and desire to make a positive difference.
